Hope House was established by Business Professional Woman of Columbia in 1988 to help victims of Domestic Violence.

Our current mission is to provide shelter, advocacy and support to our clients. To engage in community education; to heighten public awareness of issues concerning domestic and sexual violence; to change societal attitudes and institutions which promote and condone violence; and to build and maintain a strong organization to deal with the problems of domestic and sexual violence.

We have five programs within the organization:

1. Shelter – provides a safe and calm environment for individuals to heal from their experience of domestic violence.

2. Homeless No More – provides clients with case management in education, job and housing search to obtain self-sufficiency.

3. Court Advocate – provides accompaniment and advocacy as clients face the judicial system. Intake specialist for the Immigrant Legal Clinic.

4. Child Advocate – provides needs assessments, referrals, one-on-one case management, safety planning and children‘s support group.

5. Rape & Sexual Assault Program - provide assistance to individuals who have recently experienced sexual assault and individuals who are continuing the healing process from past victimization.
